With the upgrading of modern landscape aesthetics, single silver metallic stainless steel can no longer meet the diverse decorative needs of cultural scenic spots, theme parks and characteristic architectural spaces. Color electroplated stainless steel sculptures have gradually become a new favorite in the art landscape industry due to their rich color options, strong three-dimensional sense and outstanding visual impact. This project is a customized colored abstract stainless steel sculpture for a city theme cultural park. The client hoped to break the monotonous traditional landscape style and create a vibrant, artistic and recognizable core landscape installation. The sculpture was required to feature smooth and dynamic lines, gradient color layering, excellent outdoor weather resistance, and no color fading or peeling under long-term exposure to wind, sun and rain.
To match the park’s youthful and cultural positioning, our design team adopted a free abstract curved shape with intertwined streamline structures, abandoning rigid geometric designs. We selected high-purity 304 stainless steel as the base material, which features stable texture and strong ductility, suitable for complex bending and shaping. Different from ordinary paint spraying, we adopted advanced vacuum PVD electroplating technology for surface coloring, including titanium gold, rose gold, champagne gold and colorful gradient custom colors.
In the production process, we firstly used 3D digital modeling to confirm the overall proportion and curve radian, ensuring every line is natural and smooth. After precision laser cutting, cold bending shaping and integral seamless welding, the whole sculpture was polished repeatedly to remove all welding marks and surface flaws, laying a flat and delicate foundation for electroplating. Strict pre-plating cleaning and dust-free treatment were carried out to ensure the electroplating layer is uniform, firm and non-peeling.
In view of outdoor long-term use, we added anti-oxidation and anti-fouling protective layers on the surface of the colored sculpture. The finished electroplating layer presents a high-grade metallic luster with natural color transition, showing different gorgeous visual effects with the change of sunlight and viewing angles. Compared with traditional painted sculptures, our electroplated stainless steel works are wear-resistant, UV-resistant, fade-proof and easy to maintain, with a far longer service life.
After precise on-site installation, overall debugging and safety inspection, the project was perfectly delivered and passed the client’s acceptance. The colorful stainless steel sculpture has become the most eye-catching visual focus of the theme park, greatly enriching the spatial hierarchy and cultural atmosphere of the scenic area.
